Indiana Jones

When I was about 9 or 11 or whatever, Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade came out. It was the first movie I ever went to without parents...just me and my sister and cousin and friend. A glorious feeling on the cusp of independence.

So here more than 15 years later, I wanted to see Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull on opening night. Himself and I went to see it at the Uptown Theater in Cleveland Park. The Uptown is one of those old one-theater movie palaces, the kind I wish still dotted our cities. Ah well.

The movie was what I wanted it to be: preposterous and politically incorrect and exciting.

But the best were all the extremely nerdy guys in Indy hats. And the best of the best was the nerdiest of the them all saying this to his friend on the phone: "It was like seeing an old friend after 20 years. He may be a bit long in the tooth, but he's still the same old guy."

Oh La!

I am so HAPPY to see you on here again! It has been too long. I am going to see this most exciting movie on Memorial Day, in celebration of all that have gone before me. I hope I enjoy it as much as you did.

Love that you're back!

You really think it was as politically incorrect as the other Indy movies? I'm not so sure.

Thanks for commenting on my blog. Now what do I have to do to get you to post a link to it?

CLASSIC, Laudder!
I love the "long in the tooth" expression... that was seriously funny. Thanks for blogging again... I've missed your posts!

It's been about 19, 20 years since the last Indy movie. I so wish to see it, in fact, I can! They have it pirated here in morocco, but I think I'll wait till I get home!
